The problem with having a fantastic product, like Ironclad, at my fingertips is that my expectations about CLM design and functionality are now spectacularly high. Fortunately, I know the gang at Ironclad loves new ideas so I thought I would start a thread to crowd source some more...Here are a few to start off with.
1. WHAT: in WFD, ability to expand/collapse all sections in a launch or counter-party form. WHY: because I'm lazy, I guess? Plus it might make it easier to navigate forms that, in WFD, are quite long in WFD due to lots of lovely conditionality.
2. WHAT: in dashboard, ability to search for workflows using more than just the workflow name, e.g. metadata. WHY: to accommodate those who might not know exactly what they are looking for but might know something about the contract which doesn't appear in the workflow name e.g. product title
3. WHAT: in WFD, ability to create a list of managed values (e.g. a country list) and reuse it across multiple questions (e.g. what is your country of operation? What is your country of residence?) WHY: various benefits for workflow designers and system administrators, including: consistency and central maintenance (especially, if, say, a country were to change its name and all country questions had to be updated accordingly) plus, laziness - to save time when creating dropdowns/multiple choice Qs with long lists (although the newish function, "copy/paste" question, does help with this!)
4. WHAT: in WFD, ability to search fields and conditions in left-hand panel and, also, ability to expand/collapse the panel. WHY: because, as a workflow builder, apparently, I am even too lazy to scroll sometimes (and also sometimes I forget the names I have given things)...and, when tinkering with WFD on my mobile, it's difficult to see the main part of the page without being able to collapse the fields/conditions panel.
5. WHAT: from dashboard (maybe), ability to toggle to a view (and/or download a spreadsheet) that shows all fields and conditions that are in place across all workflows, including the attributes of each one. WHY: because, as a system administrator, I want to be able to understand the data architecture that has been created within the platform (e.g. to avoid duplication of fields with the same attributes but different names) and ensure it is well designed and maintained. I want to have this oversight because the organisation wants to be able to extract maximum business and commercial insight from the data and I therefore want the ability to "design for data" and minimise the need to manipulate data after it has been extracted.
I know you all will have thoughts on the above and your own ideas to add (reports dashboard, anyone?!) so, please, fire away...
