Dear community,
I’m Fred, the Product Manager working on Repository and Reporting. Reporting is one of our main product priorities in 2021 and we have had a ton of customer conversations over the last 8 months to understand your needs and solicit feedback. I know Reporting is top of mind for many of you so I wanted to give you all a brief update on some of our recent releases and what you can expect for the rest of the year.
Review of our progress to-date
The team has been making great progress and I wanted to share some results so far, guided largely by your input.
- [Released 7/14] Added all workflow metadata to the Dashboard export.
As we were planning core reporting features and conducting research we heard from many of you that while you were excited about the roadmap, extracting workflow metadata was a huge pain that needed to be addressed in the near term. We took this to heart and diverted some of our resourcing to release this feature quickly.
- [Released 8/25] Started including workflow data as default record properties.
This week we launched the first feature uniquely enabled by our records <> workflows infrastructure work. Newly created records will now include workflow creation date, workflow owner, and workflow creator as default record properties. We know that being able to filter records by workflow data is an important reporting need for many of you so we’re excited to start delivering value on this front. We haven’t backfilled the data for historical records yet but will do so in the Fall.
- [Est. September completion] Our records <> workflows infrastructure work is nearly complete.
Completing our core infrastructure work that bridges the gap between workflow data and record data is a prerequisite to building out our in-product reporting suite. This was a huge technical investment and I’m happy to report that this infrastructure work is nearly complete.
Focus for H2: Reporting on in-flight contracts
In the research we conducted with you, we found that your most pressing reporting needs centered around gaining a better understanding of your in-process contract negotiations - what was being worked on, how much work was in-flight, what is the status of all of your workflows, and which ones need your attention? Our first major reporting features will be focused on this problem.
To that end, we are focusing our efforts on two major feature releases in Q4 that will give you much better visibility on your in-process contracts. The screenshots are illustrative but should give you a good idea of what the features will entail.
- [Est. Q4 beta release] Dashboard 2.0.
The Dashboard is becoming much more powerful, with robust filtering and sorting capabilities and the ability to bring in any record property. Filtering by contract value or team, for example, will be simple to do directly on the Dashboard. Custom Views and export will also make the Dashboard more useful for a wide variety of use cases for different teams and users.
- [Est. Q4 beta release] Tracking counterparty review.
We are giving you more granular visibility into the status of your workflows when they are in the Review stage by helping you track when a workflow is under review by the counterparty vs. when it is in internal review. You will also be able to sort workflows by this information on the Dashboard. With this information, you will have a much better picture of which workflows need your immediate attention and which ones are actually not on your plate.
After these two releases, we will be focusing our attention on Ironclad’s first in-product data visualization feature. This will likely also be focused on reporting on in-flight contracts. With our infrastructure work largely behind us, we are incredibly excited for the rest of the year. As always, we’d love to hear your thoughts and feedback. Thank you all again for being so involved in our community.
Best,
Fred
