About the Role
We have an outstanding opportunity for an experienced Legal Operations Manager to lead our CLO Operations team while building the strategy and creating new innovations. In doing so, you'll work closely with colleagues from across Uber to build effective tools and processes for managing the operational needs of the Chief Legal Officer (“CLO”) Organization (Legal, Compliance, and Security), including contract lifecycle management, document management, legal matter management, outside counsel billing and engagements, and external spend controls.

What You’ll Do
- Manage a team to develop and execute the strategy for CLO Operations, with emphasis on tech tooling, data-driven approaches, vendor engagements, and cost-efficiency.
- Be involved in the design, planning, launch, and improvement of new tools and vendor integrations on a global scale.
- Oversee all aspects of law firm management, including implementation of outside counsel guidelines and timely collection and processing of accruals, budgets, and invoices.
- Manage Uber’s Preferred Counsel Program to ensure advances in financial performance, attorney diversity, and quality of service.
- Collaborate with internal partners in the US and internationally to evaluate priority needs and to develop creative solutions for emerging operational demands.
- Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks, and communicate status to executive level stakeholders.
- Interface with tech and business professionals to estimate work efforts and manage program resources.
- Manage budget and headcount planning and monitoring with the aim to ensure that the CLO organization hits all targets.
- Support the CLO Office and CLO Chief of Staff on ad hoc projects.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of eight (8) years experience in operations, with a preference for experience with an in-house legal team at a rapidly growing company.
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong strategic mindset, with the ability to set direction and outline key outcomes.
- Solid track record of managing a diverse team of operations professionals.
- Understanding of finance operations (invoicing, budget management, and headcount planning).
- Organization and diligence, with outstanding oral and written communication skills, especially with executive audiences.
- Strong influencing skills, with a reputation for getting things done optimally.
- Experience with DocuSign CLM, SimpleLegal, Oracle, Tableau, Salesforce, and Excel.
- Embody the highest standards of integrity, ethics, and accountability.

For Chicago, IL-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $156,000 per year - $173,000 per year.
For New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $173,000 per year - $192,000 per year.
For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $173,000 per year - $192,000 per year.
For Washington, DC-based roles: The base salary range for this role is $173,000 per year - $192,000 per year.
