About the Role
We’re looking for a Corporate Counsel to provide commercial, product, regulatory, and compliance support across the entire company. Working collaboratively with other members of the team, this role will identify risks and opportunities, advise and counsel clients, and execute on contracts and processes to allow House’s business to grow and advance our mission.
What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with various teams within House, including Commercial, Product, Clinical Ops, People Ops, Finance, Marketing/Communications and others to provide strategic and legal guidance on matters associated with House’s software, services and activities
- Lead, from beginning to end, the structuring, drafting, reviewing, negotiating and closing of corporate and commercial transactions. The successful attorney in this role will manage a diverse scope of contracting issues, and identify and evaluate many business and legal issues simultaneously
- Represent the needs and concerns of House when interacting with customers, vendors and other partners
- Provide creative, practical and principled legal solutions for all areas of the business
- Advise on legal risks and opportunities for House based on an understanding of the changing regulatory and competitive environments
- Assist with a broad range of other healthcare regulatory matters including monitoring the enforcement environment, internal training, and compliance policy development
- Develop and maintain updated template agreements that reflect House’s new and evolving products and services
Expected Full-Time Base Salary: $160,000 - $190,000
This range represents the low and high end of the anticipated base salary/wage. The actual base salary/wage will depend on several factors, including experience, knowledge, and skills. Actual compensation packages may include other elements, equity, paid time off and benefits.
About You
You're a resourceful attorney with 3+ years of legal experience representing healthcare or life sciences companies. You're excited by the prospect of rolling up your sleeves to tackle meaningful problems each and every day. You’re a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who seeks and gives candid feedback, and values the chance to make an important impact.
- A JD Degree and are a member and in good standing of any State Bar
- 3+ years of law firm or in-house experience advising healthcare companies on transactional, compliance and regulatory issues
- Can work independently and exercise excellent judgment
- Extraordinary interpersonal skills and ability to provide sound, clear and succinct legal advice to legal and business teams
- Experience with technology transactions or provider-facing commercial contracts
- Experience with compliance and regulatory issue spotting, research, analysis, and risk mitigation in the highly regulated health care setting
- Can multitask, work under tight time pressures, prioritize work, and react quickly to changing business needs and demands all in a fast-paced, high-growth business environment
- Have a demonstrated track record of being a team-player and working collaboratively
- Able to maintain an independent and objective perspective while developing and maintaining a strong partnership with stakeholders
- An intellectually nimble thinker and highly adaptable
