Every now and then I get an amendment to review (or draft) where there are already a couple of prior "stacked" amendments that each adds, modifies or replaces clauses, that then need to be read all together to figure out what the current state is. It would be great if Ironclad enabled the "merging" of the original agreement with all amendments, preferably created as versions that could be easily compared. This could be really helpful in actually drafting an amended and restated agreement instead of making another amendment, or in reviewing a new amendment from the counterparty. It would also be great if this could generate correct metadata for the current state (e.g. if term or contract value is amended), and save/update a single workflow/record.
If anyone already has some best practice around how to achieve this, I'm all ears! We have the original agreement and each amendment as separate records in Ironclad (linked to create contract families ofc), meaning that no record contain complete and updated metadata, unless and until, we manually do an amended and restated version instead of just a short amendment.
