We have had a counterparty that has split it's business into two companies, both of which have been bought by other entities. Prior to the purchase, we signed a replication agreement, whereby a contract with one entity was automatically copied to the other entity. This way both companies purchasing the entities could take our services.
What's the best way to store this in the repository?
Secondly, it is likely the companies will novate the contracts to the owning companies. If we update the Counterparty we lose the ability to search on the old company name. How do people handle novations - update the counterparty name, use a second field, or something else?
