Evolv is seeking an innovative and enthusiastic Legal Operations & Program Manager to join the Legal Team of a mission-driven company with an industry-disrupting technology.

This newly created role reporting to the Deputy General Counsel, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer offers a unique opportunity to help build a Legal Operations function from the ground up, as well as contribute substantively to key legal programs including ESG and Ethics & Compliance. Success in the Role: What are performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?
In the first 30 days, you will:
- Participate in “EvolvED”, a weeklong orientation program for all new employees.
- Understand the organizational structure and responsibilities within Evolv.
- Develop an understanding of Evolv’s products and services, including commercial contracting lifecycle, CLM tool (Ironclad), and legal project roadmap.
- Embrace Evolv’s mission-driven culture of making the world a safer place to live, work, learn, and play.
Within 3 months, you will have:
- Cultivated strong relationships with the legal team and internal stakeholders, including IT, Sales Operations, and Finance.
- Become a key team member of several cross-functional programs and projects including Environmental, Social, Governance (ESG), Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), and Ethics & Compliance.
- Collaborated with Legal and Finance teams to develop and optimize contracting workflows in Ironclad and related tools to ensure a seamless contracting experience.
By the end of the first year (if not before), you will:
- Have created a legal technology roadmap that identifies and recommends legal technology solutions designed to optimize legal workflows and improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
- Be seen as a trusted advisor to the legal team, providing critical organizational support including: monitoring and tracking department projects and goals, implementing recommended enhancements to key legal workflows and systems, and supporting large projects and litigation, as needed.
- Partner with the Chief Ethics & Compliance officer on a variety of compliance operations projects, including compliance screening initiatives, trend monitoring, and data analysis and reporting.

The Work: What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?
Program Development and Management:
- Play a central role in managing and operationalizing critical legal programs such as Ethics & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Environmental Social Governance (ESG).
- Coordinate with a cross-functional group of stakeholders to ensure effective program implementation and progress, including project risks and risk mitigation strategies.
- Help define and oversee project scope, objectives, timelines, and deliverables.
- Create regular reports and communications to leadership and other key stakeholders on the progress of projects, alignment with organizational strategies, and achievement of goals.
- Lead drafting and implementation of relevant policies and processes designed to operationalize legal and risk management programs.
- Liaise with external vendors and partners as needed to support project objectives.
Legal Operations
- Help lead department technology initiatives including AI, contract management, e-billing, and automated contracting tools. Administer Evolv’s CLM system (Ironclad) including providing support, training, user access, and classifying document information.
- Monitor and assess the performance of current legal technology tools and recommend upgrades or changes as necessary.
- Suggest and implement enhancements to legal workflows by identifying process improvements and implementing best practices. Potential areas of opportunity include: legal team intake, outside counsel management, knowledge management, and litigation management.
- Manage Evolv’s Contract Lifecyle Management tool and provide training and support to legal staff and other stakeholders in the use and value optimization of the system.
Continuous Improvement
- Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of legal programs and operations.
- Stay informed of industry trends and best practices in legal operations and program management.
- Depending on interest, career goals, and experience, may also assist on various other legal projects in different functions that will inevitably arise at a rapidly growing company.

- You will be joining Legal team and reporting directly to the VP, Deputy General Counsel, Chief Ethics & Compliance Officer and will also work closely with all members of the legal team.

Where is the role located?
- While the preference is for this role to be hybrid and based out of HQ in Waltham, MA, Evolv will consider fully remote for the right US-based candidate.
Qualifications and preferred experiences:
- 4-8 years’ in-house legal experience in the areas of legal program management, legal operations, and/or compliance.
- Experience selecting, implementing, and managing legal technology solutions as well as project management experience.
- An understanding of one or more of the following areas: Ethics & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), Litigation/e-discovery, E-billing, Contract Lifecycle Management, and/or Environmental Social Governance (ESG).
- Demonstrated experience working independently as well as collaboratively, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- While a JD degree is not required for this role, it could be a great opportunity for an attorney seeking both rewarding work and flexibility.
What is the salary range?
- The base salary range for this full-time position is $92,000-$148,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
