Hi Ironclad Community,
Yesterday's user group meet up was our biggest ever with over 115 community members on the call! Special thank you to Scott Sasser from Ramp and Antonio Perez from LECG (LegalEng Consulting Group) for sharing their use cases and best practices when it comes to Salesforce Integration with Ironclad. I also want to apologize for the zoom link snafu which I take complete responsibility for.
Recap below:
1. Scott Sasser, Legal Ops at Ramp, one of the fastest-growing companies out there, shared his strong philosophy of meeting its business users where they are. He walked us through how they've set up the Ironclad and Salesforce integration, which allows their Sales people to remain working in Salesforce for the majority of the contract lifecycle.
Benefits they’ve realized with the integration include:
- Enhanced employee productivity
- Streamlined system usage / reduced learning curve
- Reduced errors / duplicate entry
- Salesforce source of truth for Sales employees
Sales users have strongly received and adopted the workflow integration between Ironclad and Salesforce, and Ramp is expanding the integration capabilities for more complex use cases.
2. Antonio Perez from LECG walked us through some best practices for Salesforce and Ironclad integration:
- Ironclad and Salesforce defaults can be tricky;
- Two strong recommendations:
- Internalize that workflow syncs are separate from records syncs — make sure you are syncing all records available per workflow
- For default Salesforce syncing, recommendation is to NOT use Account Info such as Company Name, Signer Name(s) — this is the default syncing mechanism
- Small changes to Account Info captured in the signature process that don’t EXACTLY match to Salesforce data (e.g. an extra comma) could result in new Salesforce opportunities being created, duplicate data, etc.
- Instead, recommendation is to use Salesforce ID (not default) to sync --> Salesforce ID is best route, and make sure Ironclad workflow is receiving this info on the Workflow Designer side
3. Other Q&A and Discussion
- If a new SFDC quote is generated for an in-flight Ironclad workflow, can the existing Ironclad workflow pull from the new SFDC quote?
- Yes, if Ironclad is syncing from the “Primary Quote”
- Can Ironclad dynamically generate product families from SFDC into the legal document?
- Yes, via filtering in WFD and setting up a dynamic table for each product family
Thank you all for a vibrant conversation which we can continue through these forums. Scott and Antonio, please feel free to share any other materials or helpful content with the group here too.
If you have ideas for topics for the next meetup or if you would like to share your use case with the group, please let me know as we would love to hear from you (mary.ocarroll@ironcladhq.com).
