I am having trouble figuring out a good way to let my users draft contracts that use counterparty templates, where the counterparty does not actually draft the contracts for us. For example, the customer will draft the first SOW, and all SOWs following that will be drafted by us using that same template. I have the same problem with SOWs that start from our standard template, but the customer drastically edits the format to the point that it no longer makes sense to draft the future SOWs from our standard template.
I'm actually considering creating a whole separate workflow for these customer's SOWs, where "our paper" is actually just their paper turned into a template, and the first question in the form is a dropdown listing all the unique customer SOWs. That seems like it would be clunky/confusing for my users and would require a lot of workflow designer effort each time we have a new customer like this. Ironclad suggested having my users find the Word document of the original SOW and uploading it into my normal SOW workflow as counterparty paper, which makes sense to me, but my users are probably not going to like going from simply sending me a message to "make a copy of SOW01, just change the services," to having to search around for templates.
Any genius solutions you've dreamed up to address this? A good experience for my users is my priority here.
