Senior Paralegal, Commercial Contracts Specialist
Expedia Group is looking for a highly motivated and experienced paralegal to join the legal team supporting the Travel Supply Partners group within Travel Partners and Media (TPM), Expedia’s global B2B organization. Travel supply includes hotels, vacation rentals, air, car, activities, and cruise, and it is the lifeblood of Expedia Group. In this role, you will provide support to the Travel Supply legal team, and to the business teams directly. The role will be based in Seattle and report to VP Legal for Travel Supply Partners.
What you’ll do:
- Review and draft a wide range of global commercial agreements both independently and under the supervision of attorneys (e.g., hotel, car, and air supplier contracts and amendments)
- Create and manage standardized contract templates
- Develop and manage legal processes, under a continuous improvement model, including working within a CLM tool
- Advise business partners on contract questions, including interpretation and disputes
- Update legal guidelines and provide proactive legal training to business teams
- Project-manage new business and legal initiatives
- Coordinate with other members of the Travel Supply legal team, as well as across the legal team to optimize working relationships and better support business partners
- Establish and maintain working relationships with internal functional groups such as tax, finance, privacy, and treasury
- Maintain legal intranet for Travel Supply
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree, potentially with Paralegal Certificate, and 5+ years paralegal experience with a top regional or national law firm or working in a dynamic in-house legal environment, or equivalent related professional experience
- In-house experience strongly preferred
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience reviewing and drafting commercial contracts
- Track record of establishing strong working relationships with internal/external business partners, and understanding their commercial imperatives
- Thrive in a team environment and look for opportunities to take initiative
- Strong organizational skills with superb attention to detail
- Ability to set priorities and be flexible with change
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent work ethic
The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $89,000.00 to $124,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $142,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.
Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
