Me and my team at companjon.com started using Ironclad this year. During implementation we encountered several issues that we tried to solve with Ironclad support. They tried and were very responsive but could not really help. Instead, support proposed that we post and discuss our problems here in the community forum. It would be great if community could help us. After using now Ironclad for a couple of months, , we find ourselves disillusioned and a little bit desperate. However, before changing providers, we first want to be really sure that the problem is not us.
Problem 7/8: Being a small company we often have to use counterparty paper / drafts that are prepared by the counterparty. Not sure if I understood support correctly here when they informed me that it is not possible to link e.g. the counterparty name or address to the meta information as collected with the workflow. This is an issue for several reasons:
- It increases the risk of errors / wrong metadata, as there is no control on whether e.g. the counterparty as included in the agreement is the same as included as workflow data, or that the address is correct, or that the signatories are correct.
- It questions the use of Ironclad as contract drafting tool / tool to manage the contracting process, as it seems to me that it is probably more efficient to manage counterparty contracts fully outside of Ironclad, and then once finished / signed to upload the contract using Smart Import.
- However, such approach would then again make all KPI and reporting tolls mostly worthless, as for us most of the agreements my team works on would be managed outside of Ironclad. Also, it is confusing for our business partners, if we have to explain to them that counterparty paper contracts are managed through e-mail / SharePoint as in the past, and own paper contracts are managed through Ironclad.
My question to the community: Are there any other users who deal with lots of counterparty contracts? How do you ensure that the metadata of these contracts are correct, how do you check that there is no contradiction between metadata and the data in the contract? Do you use Ironclad for counterparty contracts, or do you manage these outside of Ironclad, and only add them to the repository once they are signed?
