Allow Export of all Custom Button or Link URL

We refresh our Salesforce sandboxes a few times a year and when we do that, we have to reconnect the Ironclad Sandbox to our full copy sandbox. To properly do this, we have to manually copy and paste all custom links from the Ironclad sandbox into our Salesforce sandbox. Similar to how we can export workflows, I would like to be able to do the same for the button links.

This provides a great deal of business value because instead of copying and pasting multiple forms, I can instead use the exported output to data load the values into my sandbox. This not only saves time, but eliminates the risk of human error, which can deflect tickets and mitigate issues in end user testing.

We have half a dozen SFDC Sandboxes which we refresh on a regular basis and we we ran into this issue as well. The good thing though is that in SFDC, the records generated in a refreshed Sandbox always use the same record ID as is used in Production and this gave us the ability to design a simplified approach to have the IC Workflow Configuration records in the SFDC Sandbox updated with the URLs from the IC Sandbox.

As far as the IC Sandbox is concerned, unless you are creating a new Workflow, the endpoint URLs generated in the Workflow Sync configuration will not change.

• You export a list of the IC Workflow Configuration records from the SFDC Production instance and then update the URL values with the corresponding values from the IC Sandbox.
• Now as part of your Sandbox Post Refresh step, you will have a file ready for upload which you can use everytime without any change.
• The only time when this extract would need updates is when you remove a WF or add a new WF.

Another thing which you could do as well (something we did to remove the manual step of updating the end points) is

• To define an Apex Class where you hardcode the IC WF Config Record IDs to update and with it, provide the constant IC Endpoint.
• Use the above logic in the SandboxPostCopy Interface to have this step automated so it runs after every Sandbox refresh automatically.
• The only time when this logic in the Apex Class would need updates is when you remove a WF or add a new WF.

The approach proved to be a huge time saver for us given the frequent refresh frequency we have for our SFDC Sandboxes. I hope this proves to be beneficial for you as well.
