Our business partners have requested that we add a question that requires a minimum of 40 characters in the response. We've searched the Support and Community pages, and we can't find any way to add conditions to the free responses on text questions like this. We've looked at using formulas to perform logical checks (which is pretty easy), but I'm not seeing a way to prevent the user from submitting the launch form if it has invalid responses.
My suggestion is to add validation options to the free response questions, like:
- If the property is Text (Short Response or Paragraph), show a button to allow the designer to add conditions:
- Minimum characters
- Maximum characters
- If the property is Number, show a button to allow the designer to add conditions:
- Minimum value
- Maximum value
In the launch form, if the user inputs a value that is outside the bound(s), then the intake form would show an "invalid response" message AND it would NOT allow them to save.
