Use Case: In order to impersonate a user to make sure their permissions are set correctly, & they don’t have access to more or less than they need.
I have been away from the Community Forum for a while but I just popped back in and saw your suggestion, @David_Wieseneck . I had to come by and comment because I JUST LOVE IT.
I am so befuddled by the permissions functionality (especially per-record Repository settings which seem to be configurable via many different channels, i.e. in WFD, in the Repository itself, via Settings...) that I have actually delayed doing anything about it for several months now.
I am getting to the point where my failure to provide our GC with an "Ironclad archiving/access policy" is making me nervous.
The ability to "play around" with permissions and testing out various settings for different groups and records would be fantastic! (FYI: "playing around" is pretty much how I figure out how to use the rest of Ironclad's features... but permissions is the only aspect where I can't do that)...
Ps. @Peter_Cole - might need to enlist your aid with this if permissions don't get really intuitive, really soon! 😇
@David_Wieseneck thank you for your feedback. We'll share this with the product team.
Please! Please! Please! We so need this feature.
Anyone heard any update on this one?
It’s almost impossible to check what access someone has. I’ve had to ask someone to log in and let me watch “over their shoulder” to check if they have too much or too little access. this thread talks about the difficulties of setting the right access:

Looks like Ironclad Support has the capability - please enable this for Admins!
Hi David! Thank you for the feedback. We agree with you that this would be a helpful feature. We don't have a date for this yet but it is on our roadmap!We also hear the feedback that our permissions system can be difficult to navigate and test overall. We have a team staffed on this and are working on improvements here.
@meg_glasser awesome. Let me know if you ever want to chat on ideas.
@meg_glasser - any updates on this??
@David_Wieseneck Thank you for responding to my related post Admins "Everyone" alias user ID to test Sandbox that I had posted this morning and connecting me to this thread. I hope they offer one of these feature upgrades soon!
@meg_glasser
Hi David, we do not yet have a commitment date for this feature. We hear you and are continuing to work to improve our permissions feature set.
This would be insanely helpful. Is there any plan to make admin permission testing possible? What's the status?
