I've recently started migrating a few of our key contractual obligations into Ironclad and while I'm excited that this workflow has been added, I'm itching for some useful, impactful enhancements...
- "Assignee" in Obligations grants too much edit access. I don't want to assign an SME to an Obligation if it means giving them edit permission to the contract.
- Related: it would be nice to have the ability to add “Watcher” instead or in addition to “Assignee”
- "Obligation Types" needs improvement. The list of OOTB Obligation Types doesn't capture everything we need (Subcontractors, Artificial Intelligence, Logos/Testimonial Use, etc.) but when adding custom Obligation Types, setting up the associated properties is limited. It becomes very tedious to add new Obligations when I have to re-select the associated properties everytime. The relevant properties should show up in the "New Obligation" conditionally when I select the Type.
- Additional Property Type options - maintaining standardization for reporting in Obligations is very difficult because of the lack of pre-set response options. For example, it would be helpful to have a "Dropdown" property type where we could define response options in Data Manager. The same idea would be helpful for a multi-select property type, with pre-set response options. Additionally, for "Duration" it would be nice to have additional choices for the timeframes (Hours, Immediately, etc.)
- Ability to add a property, but not fill it in. For example, “Date of Last Notice” is always pre-filling today’s date, but I want to add the property without a date.
- Ability to add notes/comments and @ mention other Ironclad users in our organization within an Obligation. This would be helpful for communicating & documenting a history/audit trail.
- There are a few little quirks that I think would polish up the Obligations flow as well. For example, when the obligation name is too long, I would love to be able to hover over the text to show it completely. Also, in the Obligations Details slideout, when you're adding a new Obligation the field is titled "Parent Contract" but once you save, it switches to "Entity" - could we show one or the other?
